What can we do?

I was speaking with an essentially conservative man the other day. He expressed his displeasure with the current direction of our country and he indicated that he was pro-Constitution. He was telling me that he had stopped paying attention to everything political that is going on because he does think that there is anything that he can do to change it or make a difference. I challenged his position on this and offered an alternative to the way he was thinking.

I asked him where he had been getting his information. He said that he had stopped listening to the news because all they did was lie. I have made the same choice, so where should we get our information. Do we get it from the “Main Stream Media?” Do we get it from Google, Social Media such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook? Do we get it from alternative sources, such as The Blaze, The Daily Wire,  BitChute, Rumble, Gab, and the like?

How do you decide which sources are credible?

These are a few checks that I try to apply:

  • What is the goal of the source?
    • Disseminate vital information
    • Self-promotion
    • Profit
    • Likes
    • Subscribers
  • Is the source at odds with the Constitution or other founding documents?
  • Is the source at odds with real science?
  • Is the source at odds with “Common Sense?”
  • Is the source at odds with what you already believe to be true?

After applying these tests I try to discern if the source can be trusted completely or in part. After identifying sources that I believe I can trust I continue to apply the checks that I have identified as I spend my valuable time-consuming information from these sources.

Once you have a process of finding and consuming information that you can trust your work begins. First, you need to get informed. You need to consume as much trusted information as you can and then process it so that you have an understanding of it. Secondly, once you have an understanding, you do your due diligence to make sure that what you believe and what you have learned is factual, as factual as possible. With that you should be well on your way to being “awake.” With that confidence and understanding comes the real work. Namely, to help those around you, that trust you, that you have an influence on to start their “awakening” process

The Real Work

In order to help those around you it is important to have your “ducks in a row.” The reason for this is that those you want to influence will have questions about this information, because they likely have never heard any of it, and if they have, they’ve been told that it is ‘conspiracy theory.” You need to not only show them the information but you have to show them how they can find it on their own and how they can test and vet it. The other thing that they need to be shown, is how important it is for them to do the same thing and show people in their sphere of influence the same thing and the same processes.

It is vital for the survival of our Constitutional Republic that the citizens of the nation know what is true and have the confidence to share that truth and have the strength and courage to ACT on what they know. We are blessed to have lived under this form of government for over 200 years and I believe that we are obliged by that blessing to do everything in our power to make sure it survives and that our children come to know what we know and have a desire to follow our example and do the same for their children.
