Our Founding Fathers were the descendants of not only liberty-loving people, but freedom-seeking people. Their ancestors fled religious oppression as well as sought the profit that the combination of endless possibilities combined with freedom offered. They all braved the unknown, left what they knew and faced immense challenges to enjoy being free. That freedom offered them and their posterity the opportunity to grow in ways that they only imagined. Not only were they liberty loving, freedom-seeking people, they were a people that took responsibility for their choices and were able, because of that to make progress, the progress that we in this country enjoy the fruits of today.
This heritage was the foundation of the principles that gave us our founding documents and the leaders that created them. The legacy of those leaders and the principles that informed their leadership is one of liberty. A legacy of liberty.
